Jeremy High, LSCSW, LCAC

Who am I?

Hello! My name is Jeremy High, and I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) as well as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) in the state of Kansas. I have accumulated 12 years of valuable clinical experience as a social worker, during which I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals from all walks of life throughout my career. My experience spans various environments, including inpatient hospital settings, corrections facilities, outpatient individual therapy, and outpatient addictions treatment settings. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy spending quality moments with my little dog Asha, playing trivia with what I believe is the best trivia team ever, and being out and about in Lawrence, where I savor the time spent with my friends as I strive to live the best life possible!

Me In therapy

I utilize an eclectic approach to social work that draws from my experience as a clinician with experience in evidence base practices, as well as experience as a human being.  Some of the evidence based practices I have experience in include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Mindfulness Based Interventions

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • and many more.

I enjoy working with people who are ready for change and want results.  I particularly enjoy working with people who are in the process of identifying who they are, and who they want to be.  I enjoy working with big emotions and helping people to find strength in their experience of their emotions.  I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician.

Generally speaking I am a casual practitioner who focuses on building a relationship with you that is supportive of your ongoing journey of recovery and wellness.  I enjoy a good laugh and really hope to bring levity to your experience where appropriate.

What to Expect

In our first meeting we will discuss what it is that brings you to therapy and some of your history, as well as what it is that you hope to accomplish through therapy.  In ongoing sessions we will focus on your goals and how to achieve them.
